Gujarat LRD Constable syllabus
Part A
- Reasoning and data interpretation
- Quantitative aptitude
- Comprehension in Gujarati
Part B
- Constitution of India
- Current affairs, science and technology, general knowledge
- History, cultural heritage and geography of Gujarat and India
What they ask
The written test has 200 one-mark MCQs in 3 hours. Part A (80 marks) covers reasoning, quantitative aptitude and Gujarati comprehension; Part B (120 marks) covers the Constitution, current affairs and science, and the history, culture and geography of Gujarat and India. You need 40% in each part separately, and merit is your total out of 200. A wrong answer or an unmarked question costs 0.25 marks, while option E (Not attempted) costs nothing.
How to prepare
- Give the history, culture and geography of Gujarat and India the most time. That block carries 50 marks, the largest in the paper.
- Always mark something. Choose option E when you want to skip, because an unmarked question loses 0.25 marks.
- Read a Gujarati newspaper editorial daily and answer questions on it; Gujarati comprehension is 20 marks in Part A.
- Start running practice early. Men need 5000 m within 25 minutes and women 1600 m within 9 minutes 30 seconds to reach the written test.
- Use topic-wise practice quizzes on the free Improvam app to revise Constitution and current affairs questions each day.
