About Gujarat FHW

Age relaxation
- The base limit is 40, but every applicant is a woman and all women get at least 5 extra years, so the checklist in Advt. No. 08/2026-27 accepts candidates born between 20 May 1981 and 20 May 2008
- Category relaxations (10 years for SC, ST, SEBC and EWS women of Gujarat origin, 15 or 20 years for women with disabilities) cannot take anyone past the 45-year ceiling
- Ex-servicemen: length of service plus 3 years, also capped at 45

What they ask
The FHW paper is 200 marks in 3 hours, and half of it tests your FHW or ANM course knowledge. General awareness carries 35 marks, Gujarati grammar 20, English 20, and maths with reasoning and data interpretation 25. A quarter of a question's marks is cut for each wrong answer.
How to prepare
- Go through your ANM or FHW course books again. The technical section alone is 100 marks.
- Revise the general awareness list in the notification, especially welfare schemes and Panchayati Raj.
- Set aside daily time for arithmetic, reasoning and data interpretation; that section is worth 25 marks.

Gujarat FHW FAQs
You must be at least 18 on 20 May 2026, the last date for Advt. No. 08/2026-27. The rule sets 40 as the upper limit, but since only women can apply and women get 5 extra years, the real ceiling is 45 for every category: the notification checklist accepts anyone born between 20 May 1981 and 20 May 2008.
