About TGPSC Group 3
Group-III recruits accounts and office staff for state Heads of Departments, such as Senior Accountant, Auditor and Junior Assistant at the HOD level. TGPSC selects on three objective papers. The latest Group-III notification is No. 29/2022, dated 30 December 2022, for 1,363 vacancies.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–44 years, counted on 1 July 2022.
Age relaxation
- OBC: 5 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- EWS: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Telangana state government employees: up to 5 years based on regular service. Ex-servicemen and NCC instructors: 3 years plus length of service.
- These limits are from the 2022 notice. G.O.Ms.No.30 of 8 February 2024, cited in the 2024 Group-I notice, later raised the general upper limit for non-uniformed posts to 46, so check the next Group-III notification.

What they ask
Group-III has three objective papers of 150 questions each, two and a half hours per paper, 450 marks in total. Paper I tests general studies, reasoning and basic English at Class 8 level. Paper II mixes Telangana's history and state formation with the Indian Constitution and social policy, 50 questions per section. Paper III is on the Indian and Telangana economies and development issues.
How to prepare
- Learn Telangana history in sequence, from the Satavahanas and Kakatiyas through the Asaf Jahi period to the integration of Hyderabad State and statehood; a whole 50-question section is built on it.
- For polity, cover the 73rd and 74th Amendments, the Election Commission and the judiciary, which the Paper II syllabus names directly.
- Revise the Telangana economy separately from the Indian economy, since Paper III gives it its own 50-question section.
- Take daily topic-wise practice quizzes on the free Improvam app for reasoning and current affairs.

TGPSC Group 3 FAQs
Group-III has three papers (450 marks) instead of four. There is no separate Telangana movement paper; state formation sits inside the Paper II history section. Basic English in Paper I is Class 8 standard, against Class 10 in Group-II.
