About APSSB CGL
APSSB runs the CGL exam to fill graduate-level Group C posts in Arunachal Pradesh government departments. Advertisement No. 03/2026 had 122 vacancies for Upper Division Clerk, Personal Assistant (Stenographer Grade III) and Librarian, all at Pay Level 5 (₹29,200 to ₹92,300). Most of them were UDC posts spread across departments and district offices, and 94 of the 122 were reserved for APST candidates.

Age limit
General category: 18–35 years, counted on 16 April 2026 (closing date of the 2026 application).
Age relaxation

- PwBD: 10 years
- PwBD candidates who are also APST get up to 15 years.

Other conditions
- The eligibility clause asks only for Indian citizenship, but most posts are reserved for APST candidates, so check the unreserved count for your post.
- APST certificate and Permanent Resident Certificate are checked at document verification where they apply.
- You rank posts and departments in the form, and the merit list follows that order. It cannot be changed after you submit.

What they ask
The written paper has four sections of 25 questions each, at 2 marks a question. General awareness covers history, polity, geography, economics, everyday science, sports and current events, and the advertisement says state-specific questions may be asked. The English section is grammar and usage: error spotting, fill in the blanks, idioms, voice, narration, sentence shuffling, a cloze passage and comprehension. You need 33 percent in aggregate; there is no sectional cut-off and no negative marking, and the final merit list is drawn from written marks only.
How to prepare
- Answer every question. There is no negative marking, so a blank earns nothing.
- Add Arunachal Pradesh current affairs and basic state GK to your general awareness notes, since the advertisement allows state-specific questions.
- Drill the arithmetic chapters the syllabus names: percentage, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, time and work, time and distance, mensuration and data interpretation.
- Stenographer applicants should practise 80 words per minute dictation with transcription on a computer, because the proficiency test must be cleared before the written exam counts.
