About Andaman MTS
Advertisement No. 01/ML/2026 is the A&N Administration's common exam for Group C posts that need Class 10. It listed 1535 tentative vacancies (704 UR, 129 ST, 535 OBC and 167 EWS) under 194 post codes, from Multi Tasking Staff in many departments to 110 Forest Guard posts in the Department of Environment and Forests. Everyone takes one Tablet Based Test, and posts that need physical, skill or trade tests hold them afterwards for candidates who clear the cut-off.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–33 years, counted on Closing date for online applications (28 June 2026 in the notice; the last date was later extended to 27 July 2026).
Age relaxation
- ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Women: 18 to 38 years.
- Some posts have lower limits in Annexure-I. Janjati Sevak, for example, is 18 to 25 for men and 18 to 30 for women.
- PwBD candidates: 10 years (13 for OBC, 15 for ST).
- Central government civilian employees with 3 years' regular service, and DRM or contract staff: up to 40 years (45 for ST).
- Ex-servicemen may deduct military service from their age, and the result may exceed the limit by up to 3 years.

Other conditions
- Forest Guard: height at least 163 cm for men and 150 cm for women (152 cm and 145 cm for ST); chest 84 cm expanding to 89 cm for men and 79 cm expanding to 84 cm for women; a walk of 25 km for men or 14 km for women within 4 hours.
- Reserved ST, OBC and EWS seats go only to candidates domiciled in the islands; ST and OBC applicants from elsewhere are considered for unreserved seats.
- Fee: Rs 100. Women, ST and PwBD candidates are exempt.

What they ask
English and general awareness make up two-thirds of the paper, 100 of the 150 marks. Reasoning and numerical aptitude get 25 questions each and stay at a basic level: series, figure classification, percentages, ratios, averages and time and distance. The general awareness section includes current affairs and elementary computer knowledge along with history, geography, economics and science. Reasoning, numerical aptitude and general awareness questions come in both English and Hindi, and each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks.
How to prepare
- Spend the most time on English and general awareness, which carry 50 marks each against 25 each for reasoning and numerical aptitude.
- Add basic computer awareness to your GK revision, since the notice places it inside the general awareness section.
- For Forest Guard, start long walks early. Men must cover 25 km and women 14 km within 4 hours at the Tier II stage.
- Choose your post preferences carefully. There are 194 post codes, and shortlisting depends on both merit and the order you list.

How to apply
- Register through the Candidate Corner on erecruitment.andamannicobar.gov.in.
- Choose your posts in order of preference and your preferred TBT zone. The notice bars later changes; the only exception was a one-time correction window in September 2026 that allowed adding or dropping posts.
- Pay the Rs 100 fee online unless you are a woman, ST or PwBD candidate.
- Upload your photo and signature, then download the TBT e-admit card from the portal when it is released.
