About APPSC CCE
APPSCCE is the state civil services exam of Arunachal Pradesh. It fills entry-grade APCS and APPS posts and other Group A jobs such as CDPO and District Transport Officer, along with Group B posts like Assistant Section Officer and Inspector (Tax, Excise and Narcotics). Advertisement No. 5/2026, dated 7 September 2026, lists 135 vacancies, 60 of them in APCS and 38 for Assistant Section Officer. Selection runs through an objective prelims, eight descriptive mains papers and an interview.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 21–35 years, counted on 20 October 2026.
Age relaxation
- ST: 5 years
- Every APPSCCE-2026 applicant must be APST, and the advertisement gives APST candidates up to 5 extra years on the upper limit.
- APST candidates with a benchmark disability get up to 15 years.
- APST defence personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with a foreign country or in a disturbed area, and released as a result, get up to 8 years.
- Regular government servants get age concession under state rules.
Qualification
A graduate degree from a UGC-recognised university, or a qualification the government declares equivalent. Final-year students can apply, but must show proof of passing on the day of the interview.
Other conditions
- You must hold a Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of Arunachal Pradesh.
- You must hold an Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) certificate issued by the state government.
- You must be able to speak one of the indigenous tribal languages of Arunachal Pradesh. The language test follows the state notification dated 26 August 2026.
- APPS candidates must meet the police physical standards: 160 cm for APST men and 152 cm for APST women (152 cm for men from Tirap, Changlang and Longding), plus a qualifying efficiency test that includes a 1500 m run in 8 minutes for men and 800 m in 5 minutes for women.

What they ask
Prelims Paper I is the only paper that counts for reaching the mains; CSAT just has to be cleared at 33 percent. Both prelims papers are objective, set in English at degree standard, and carry a one-third penalty per wrong answer. Since the 2024 syllabus amendment, Paper I also covers North-East history and the land, people, economy and heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. In the mains, the 300-mark English paper must be cleared before the other seven are marked, and you then need 33 percent in aggregate with at least 20 percent in each merit paper. Half of the essay paper is now on an Arunachal Pradesh topic.
How to prepare
- Keep a separate Arunachal file. The GS I syllabus names the McMahon Line, the Inner Line Permit under the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation of 1873, the NEFA regulations, the Daying Ering Committee report and the APPR Act 1997.
- Write one essay on a national topic and one on an Arunachal topic each week, since the 250-mark essay paper is now split equally between the two.
- Practise CSAT under a timer. It only needs 33 percent, but falling short there cancels a good General Studies score.
- Mark answers in prelims only when you can rule out most options. A wrong answer costs a third of that question's marks.
- Keep your PRC, APST certificate and Class 10 certificate ready before you apply. The online form asks for the Class 10 certificate or marksheet as proof of age, and affidavits or horoscopes are not accepted.

How to apply
- Register once on the One Time Registration (OTR) system at appsc.gov.in, or log in with your existing OTR ID.
- Fill the APPSCCE-2026 form online; the 2026 window runs from 5 pm on 16 September to 5 pm on 20 October 2026.
- Upload your photo, signature and self-attested copies of your Class 10 certificate, APST certificate and PRC.
- Pay the ₹200 fee online. Candidates with disabilities are exempt.
- If you clear prelims, fill the Detailed Application Form (DAF) for the mains. No second fee is charged.
