About TS Police SI
This TSLPRB recruitment fills officer-level entry posts in the Telangana Police, the Special Protection Force, the fire department and prisons. The 2026 notification (Rc No. 225, dated 29 July 2026) listed 275 posts, 148 of them for Civil SI. SI and RSI posts carry the Rs 42,300 to 1,15,270 scale, and Station Fire Officer and Deputy Jailor Rs 38,890 to 1,12,510.

- The notification's base limit is 21 to 25 years. For this 2026 recruitment the government raised the upper limit by 7 years (G.O.Ms.No.87 and 122: 5 + 2), so a general candidate must not have turned 32 on 1 July 2026.
- SC, ST, BC and EWS candidates get 5 more years on top of that.
- Ex-servicemen and NCC instructors: 3 years plus their length of service. Telangana state government employees: length of regular service, up to 5 years.

Other conditions
- SAR CPL RSI, TGSP RSI and Deputy Jailor (Men) are for men only; Deputy Jailor (Women) is for women only.
- Height: at least 167.6 cm for men and 152.5 cm for women; 160 cm and 150 cm for ST candidates from the listed agency areas.
- For SI (Civil), RSI (AR) and Station Fire Officer, 95% of the vacancies in each zone go to local candidates; for RSI (TGSP) and Deputy Jailor the same rule works by contiguous zone. It does not apply to RSI (SAR CPL) and SPF SI, though reservation claims still need Telangana local status.

Arithmetic and reasoning (preliminary test and Paper III)

What they ask
The preliminary test is one three-hour OMR paper of 200 questions: 100 on arithmetic and reasoning and 100 on general studies, with the Telangana movement listed as its own topic. Candidates who clear the physical tests write four three-hour papers. The English and Telugu/Urdu papers are qualifying and combine 50 objective questions for 25 marks with 75 marks of précis, letters, essay and comprehension. Rank comes from Paper III (arithmetic and reasoning) and Paper IV (general studies plus a personality section), 200 questions each.
How to prepare
- Practise arithmetic and reasoning every day. They make up half the preliminary test and the whole of Paper III, with topics like time and work, time and distance, and clocks and calendars named in the syllabus.
- Do not treat the language papers lightly. They are qualifying, but scoring below 40% (OC/EWS), 35% (BC) or 30% (SC/ST) in either one ends your candidature whatever you score in Papers III and IV.
- Write practice précis, letters and essays each week; the descriptive part carries 75 of the 100 marks in each language paper.
- Build running fitness early: the run comes first in the physical tests, and for RSI and SPF SI posts your time also adds marks.
