About Rajasthan Police SI
RPSC recruits sub inspectors for the Rajasthan Police Home Department and platoon commanders for the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary through this exam. The 2025 notification has 1015 posts, most of them Sub Inspector (AP). It is a graduate-level exam with a physical test, so written preparation and fitness both matter.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 20–25 years, counted on 1 January 2026.
Age relaxation
- OBC: 5 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- EWS: 5 years
- 5 years for SC, ST, OBC, MBC and EWS men of Rajasthan; 10 years for women of these categories; 5 years for general women.
- 3 extra years for all applicants in the 2025 cycle, because no notification was issued after the 2021 exam.
- Upper age limit of 40 years for ex-servicemen and reservists.
- 3 years for state government employees and for dependants of police personnel who died on duty.
Qualification

What they ask
Each written paper has 100 objective questions for 200 marks in 2 hours, with 1/3 mark cut for every wrong answer. Paper I is entirely Hindi grammar and usage, from sandhi and samas to administrative terminology, so it rewards careful rule-based study. Paper II follows a general studies syllabus close to RAS prelims, with Rajasthan history, geography and economy as fixed units. The physical test gives marks by timing and distance: for men, 100 metres in 14 seconds earns the full 40 marks and a 15-foot long jump earns 30.
How to prepare
- Treat Paper I Hindi as a scoring paper: work through each grammar topic in the syllabus and practise shuddhi questions daily.
- Use RAS prelims notes for Paper II, since the units on Rajasthan history, geography, polity and economy overlap.
- Start physical training early and time yourself against the marking bands in RPSC's physical test scheme for your category.
- Take full-length mocks with the 1/3 negative marking so you learn when to skip a question.
