About RPSC 1st Grade Teacher
School Lecturer, often called 1st grade teacher, fills lecturer posts in government senior secondary schools. The 2025 notification has 3225 posts across 27 subjects and coaching disciplines, with Hindi, Commerce and Political Science carrying the largest numbers. Most subjects need a postgraduate degree and B.Ed.

General category: 21–40 years, counted on 1 January 2026.
Age relaxation
- OBC: 5 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- EWS: 5 years
- Ex-servicemen: 10 years
- PwBD: 5 years
- 5 years for SC, ST, OBC, MBC and EWS men of Rajasthan; 10 years for women of these categories; 5 years for general women.
- No upper age limit for widows and divorced women.
- Most subjects get no extra relaxation in this cycle. Public Administration gets 2 extra years and the six coach posts get 3, because of the gap since they were last advertised.

Paper I
- History of Rajasthan and Indian history, with emphasis on the national movement
- Mental ability, statistics and mathematics (secondary level)
- Language ability: Hindi and English
- Current affairs of Rajasthan, India and the world
- General science, Indian polity and geography of Rajasthan
- Educational psychology, educational management, education in Rajasthan and the RTE Act, 2009
Paper II

What they ask
Paper I has 75 questions for 150 marks in 90 minutes, which leaves little more than a minute per question. It spreads across history, reasoning, secondary-level maths and statistics, Hindi and English, current affairs and education topics such as the RTE Act. Paper II tests your own subject at postgraduate level. Wrong answers cost a third of the question's marks.
How to prepare
- Practise Paper I sections under a 90-minute limit, because speed matters more here than in most RPSC papers.
- Revise secondary-level maths and statistics formulas; they form a fixed part of Paper I.
- Use your subject's Paper II syllabus PDF from RPSC as the reading list, not a general textbook index.
- Keep a separate notebook for the RTE Act, 2009 and the education scenario in Rajasthan.
