About AP DSC
AP DSC is the state's teacher recruitment drive, run through the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Recruitment Test (AP TRT). It fills teacher posts in schools run by the government, zilla and mandal parishads, municipalities, the Tribal Welfare Department (ashram schools), the Juvenile Welfare Department and the department for differently abled persons. The Mega DSC-2025 notification of 20 April 2025 was issued to fill 16,347 teacher posts. Selection is on merit in the written test combined with TET weightage, under the rules in G.O.Ms.No.15 of 2025.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–44 years, counted on 1 July 2024.
Age relaxation
- OBC: 5 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- EWS: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Maximum age 49 years for SC, ST, BC and EWS candidates.
- Maximum age 54 years for persons with benchmark disabilities.
- Ex-servicemen: length of service plus 3 years is deducted from actual age.
Qualification

What they ask
For SGT, School Assistant and special education posts, the computer based test carries 80 marks and your APTET or CTET score adds the other 20. The SGT paper has 160 questions for 80 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes, covering general knowledge, perspectives in education, educational psychology, and content plus methodology in five school subjects. The School Assistant paper gives half its marks to the content of your subject and another quarter to its methodology. PET and SA (Physical Education) posts have a 100-mark written test and no TET requirement.
How to prepare
- Raise your TET score if you still can: 20 of the 100 merit marks come from APTET or CTET weightage.
- School Assistant candidates should spend most of their time on subject content (40 marks) and methodology (20 marks), which make up 60 of the 80 written marks.
- SGT candidates need all five school subjects at content and methodology level, since each carries 12 marks.
- Check the post-wise qualification rules in G.O.Ms.No.15 of 2025 before applying, especially the minimum percentage in graduation or Intermediate.
