About Mizoram Police Constable
Mizoram Police Headquarters recruits its Group C constables directly, not through MPSC. The advertisement dated 21 September 2026 lists 350 posts: 150 in the Unarmed Branch and 200 in the Armed Branch, at pay Level 2 (Rs 19,900 to 63,200). Applications are online only, on the Mizoram Police recruitment portal mizopolicerec.com, from 23 September to 22 October 2026. In the Unarmed Branch, 33% of the posts (50) are reserved for women.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–28 years, counted on Born between 1 August 1998 and 1 August 2008 (general category, 2026 advertisement).
Age relaxation
- OBC: 3 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- Ex-servicemen deduct their military service from their age, and the result may exceed the limit by up to three years.
- Meritorious sportspersons get 5 extra years (10 for SC/ST).
- Home Guard and Civil Defence (MRHG&CD) candidates and women follow the limits of their own category.

HSLC (Matriculation) or an equivalent pass from a recognised board or institution.
Other conditions
- You must be a permanent resident of Mizoram, or your parents or direct ancestors must be, with documents such as electoral roll enrolment and a birth certificate.
- Computer proficiency at the level of NIELIT's CCC (at least 80 contact hours) or higher.
- A pass in the Mizo Language Proficiency test, held after the PST and before the written exam, unless you studied Mizo in Class 10 or above under MBSE or as MIL elsewhere.
- Height: 168 cm for General/OBC men and 157 cm for women; 158 cm for ST/SC men and 153 cm for women. Men also need a chest of 84 cm expanding to 89 cm (79 to 84 cm for ST/SC). No minimum weight for women in this recruitment.
- A married candidate must not have more than one living spouse.
- Reservation: 5% ex-servicemen, 5% meritorious sportspersons, 10% MRHG&CD, and 33% women in the Unarmed Branch.

Physical Efficiency Test
- Men: 1.6 km within 8 minutes to qualify; 6 minutes or less earns the full 50 marks
- Women: 1 km within 7 minutes to qualify; 5 minutes or less earns the full 50 marks
- 100 m race: 15 seconds (men), 19 seconds (women)
- High jump: 3 ft 6 in (men), 2 ft 8 in (women), three chances
- Long jump: 12 ft (men), 7 ft 3 in (women), three chances
What they ask
The written exam is a single 3-hour OMR paper of 100 questions at HSLC level, set only in English, with 3 marks per question. English, mathematics and general knowledge have 25 questions each, reasoning has 15 and computer knowledge has 10. You need 120 of the 300 marks to reach the interview. Your endurance run time also carries up to 50 marks, and those marks count in the final merit list alongside the written and interview scores.
How to prepare
- Train for the run, not just to pass it. The 1.6 km (men) or 1 km (women) run is scored on a time scale up to 50 marks, and those marks go into the final merit.
- Do not neglect the 10 computer knowledge questions. They are worth 30 marks, and you need the CCC-level certificate anyway.
- Aim well above 120 in the written exam. Only twice the number of vacancies are called for interview, so the qualifying mark alone may not be enough.
- Practise HSLC-level mathematics and English with timed 100-question mock papers, since the paper is set in English only.
- Get your NCC certificate ready if you have one. A, B and C certificates add 1%, 2% and 3% of the written exam total.

- Apply online on mizopolicerec.com between 23 September and 22 October 2026.
- Choose Unarmed Branch, Armed Branch or both, in order of preference, and your category.
- Pay the fee online: Rs 400 for General/OBC, Rs 300 for ST/SC.
- Check that the application shows as submitted even after payment goes through.
