About MPESB Group 2 Sub Group 4
Group 2 Sub Group 4 is MPESB’s combined test for graduate-level Class III posts across several departments. The 2026 rulebook covers posts such as Sub Auditor in the Cooperative Department, accountants, Assistant Grade 3, stenotypists and the patwari special drive. In August 2026 the Panchayat Raj posts (Block Panchayat Officer, Panchayat Coordination Officer and contract data entry operator, post codes 97 to 101) were withdrawn, and MPESB later opened fee refunds for those applicants. One written test is held, and each department’s own rules decide the exact qualification for its post.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–40 years, counted on 1 January 2026.
Age relaxation
- OBC: 5 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- SC, ST, OBC, women, home guards and government, corporation or board employees from MP: upper limit 45.
- EWS candidates get no age relaxation.
- With all relaxations the upper limit cannot go past 45, except for the contract-worker cases the rulebook names.
Qualification
A graduate degree in the subject the hiring department's recruitment rules ask for. Some posts add conditions such as stenography speed, typing or a minimum percentage.
Other conditions
- Live registration with an MP employment office is mandatory.
- Reservation and age relaxation are only for MP domicile candidates.

What they ask
The test is one 200-mark paper in 3 hours. Part A checks school-level science, Hindi, English and maths, and Part B covers GK, computer basics, reasoning and general management. Your post preferences in the form decide which merit lists you enter, so the same score can lead to different posts.
How to prepare
- Read the department-wise tables in the rulebook before applying, since qualifications differ by post and a wrong preference can cost you the job.
- Split your study evenly between Part A and Part B, as both carry 100 marks.
- Revise MS Office, internet and basic computer terms for the computer knowledge portion.
- Solve full 3-hour mock papers so that the length of the real test does not wear you down.
