About MP Patwari

A patwari keeps village land records under Land Resource Management, Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior, part of the Revenue Department. In 2026 MPESB is filling 200 patwari posts through a special drive only for candidates with disabilities, held as part of the Group 2 Sub Group 4 combined test. Patwari is a district cadre post, so you choose districts in order of preference while applying.

Eligibility

Age limit

General category: 18–45 years, counted on 1 January 2026.

Qualification

A graduate degree from a recognised university, plus the CPCT score card with Hindi typing and computer proficiency. A selected candidate without CPCT must pass it within the 3-year probation.

Other conditions

  • The 2026 drive is only for candidates with a disability certificate from the competent authority.
  • Visually impaired candidates are not eligible for the patwari post.
  • Live registration with an MP employment office is mandatory.

What they ask

The patwari paper is the common Group 2 Sub Group 4 test: one 200-mark paper in 3 hours, split evenly between a language, maths and science part and a GK, computer, reasoning and management part. Only candidates who score at least 40 per cent of the total make the pass list for this drive. District allotment then follows merit and the order of districts you gave in the form, and it cannot be changed later.

How to prepare

  • Clear CPCT early. It is part of the qualification, and without it you have to pass within probation or lose the job.
  • Choose your district list carefully, because the order in the form is final and districts you leave out are treated as not wanted.
  • Do not leave computer knowledge and general management for the end. They sit in Part B with GK and reasoning, and that part carries 100 of the 200 marks.
