About Kerala PSC VFA
Village Field Assistant is an SSLC-level post in the village offices of Kerala's Revenue Department. Kerala PSC recruits for it district by district, with a separate ranked list for each district. The latest round is Category No. 571/2025, on a pay scale of ₹23,700–52,600, and applications closed on 14 January 2026.

What they ask
The syllabus for Category No. 571/2025 is a 100-mark paper with the same mark split as the LDC test. General knowledge takes 50 marks, including 3 for computer basics and 5 for important laws such as the RTI Act and POCSO. Current affairs is 20 marks. English, the regional language and arithmetic with reasoning are 10 marks each.
How to prepare
- Use Kerala PSC's previous LDC papers for practice as well as VFA papers, because the two syllabi share the same sections and marks.
- Finish computer basics early. It is only 3 marks, but the syllabus lists concrete items such as system and application software, word processors and network types.
- Learn the important laws unit from the bare Acts. The syllabus lists all five areas, so it is a closed list.
- Do short daily topic-wise practice quizzes on the free Improvam app for arithmetic and reasoning.

How to apply
- Create a One Time Registration profile on keralapsc.gov.in, or log in to the one you already have.
- Open the notification and click 'Apply Now' against the category number. Kerala PSC charges no application fee.
- When the exam programme comes out, submit your confirmation to write the test from your profile within the window given. Applications without a confirmation are rejected.
- Download the admission ticket from your profile. It opens in the last 15 days before the test.
Photo and signature
- Photo: JPG, 200 pixels high and 150 pixels wide, up to 30 KB, face and shoulders clearly visible on a white or light background. A new One Time Registration profile needs a photo taken within the last six months, with your name and the date printed at the bottom.
- Signature: JPG, 150 pixels wide and 100 pixels high, up to 30 KB. A blank, unclear or incomplete signature image gets the application rejected.
