About Kerala PSC LGS
Last Grade Servants are the lowest-grade office staff in Kerala's government bodies. Kerala PSC recruits LGS for government departments and, through separate notifications, for government-owned companies, corporations and boards. The newest LGS notification on the commission's site is Category No. 423/2025 for companies, corporations and boards, where pay follows each employer's own scale and you cannot choose where you are posted.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–36 years, counted on 1 January 2025.
Age relaxation
- OBC: 3 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- Provisional workers in these companies, corporations or boards can add their provisional service to the upper limit, up to five years, but only for vacancies in the organisation where they worked.
- Other concessions follow para 2 of the Kerala PSC General Conditions, with a ceiling of 50.

- Rights and duties of citizens and basics of the Indian Constitution (5)

- Kerala: geography, rivers, power projects, wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, fisheries, sports and local self-government (10)
- Kerala in the freedom struggle: political and social movements and renaissance leaders (5)

What they ask
The syllabus Kerala PSC published for LGS-level posts (Ayah, Duffedar and similar) is a single 100-mark paper with no English or language section. General knowledge carries 40 marks, and the Kerala unit on geography, rivers, power projects, sanctuaries and local bodies is worth 10 of them. Current affairs and arithmetic with mental ability are 20 marks each, and science and public health 10 each.
How to prepare
- Check the syllabus link in your exam programme before you start, because Kerala PSC publishes a detailed syllabus for each category before the test.
- Give arithmetic and mental ability real practice time. At 20 marks it is worth as much as current affairs.
- Make short notes on Kerala: its districts, rivers, dams and power projects, sanctuaries and national parks come up in a 10-mark unit.
- Revise public health as its own 10-mark block rather than folding it into science.

How to apply
- Create a One Time Registration profile on keralapsc.gov.in, or log in to the one you already have.
- Open the notification and click 'Apply Now' against the category number. Kerala PSC charges no application fee.
- When the exam programme comes out, submit your confirmation to write the test from your profile within the window given. Applications without a confirmation are rejected.
- Download the admission ticket from your profile. It opens in the last 15 days before the test.
Photo and signature
- Photo: JPG, 200 pixels high and 150 pixels wide, up to 30 KB, face and shoulders clearly visible on a white or light background. A new One Time Registration profile needs a photo taken within the last six months, with your name and the date printed at the bottom.
- Signature: JPG, 150 pixels wide and 100 pixels high, up to 30 KB. A blank, unclear or incomplete signature image gets the application rejected.
