About Kerala WPC

Woman Police Constable is Kerala Police's entry post for women in the Women Police Battalion, recruited through Kerala PSC. The written test follows the same detailed syllabus as the Armed Police Battalion constable post. The latest round, Category No. 550/2025, closed on 14 January 2026 with a pay scale of ₹31,100–66,800.

Eligibility

Age limit

General category: 18–26 years, counted on 1 January 2025.

Age relaxation

  • OBC: 3 years
  • SC: 5 years
  • ST: 5 years
  • The upper limit rises to 29 for OBC and 31 for SC/ST candidates. No other age concessions apply.

Qualification

Pass in Higher Secondary (Plus Two) or an equivalent. SC/ST candidates who failed Plus Two may be considered if there are not enough qualified candidates for the reserved quota.

Other conditions

  • Height at least 157 cm (150 cm for SC/ST candidates).
  • Distant vision 6/6 and near vision 0.5 Snellen in each eye without glasses. Colour blindness, squint or any morbid eye condition disqualifies.
  • Pass any five of eight one-star events: 100 m in 17 seconds, high jump 1.06 m, long jump 3.05 m, 4 kg shot put 4.88 m, 200 m in 36 seconds, throw ball 14 m, 25 m x 4 shuttle race in 26 seconds, and 80 skips in one minute.

What they ask

You write the same 100-mark paper as male constable candidates. Twenty marks test police-related law, with the syllabus listing the sections of BNS, BNSS, BSA, the Kerala Police Act, NDPS, POCSO, IT and RTI to study. General knowledge is 40 marks, and current affairs, arithmetic and reasoning, English and the regional language are 10 each.

How to prepare

  • Learn the BNS sections on offences against women and children carefully; the syllabus lists many of them under the 4-mark BNS unit.
  • Choose five PET events that suit you. Skipping (80 in a minute) and the shuttle race are options alongside the runs and jumps.
  • Use previous constable papers from the Kerala PSC website, since both posts share one syllabus.
  • Keep English grammar and vocabulary in daily practice; they are 5 marks each and quick to improve.

How to apply

  1. Create a One Time Registration profile on keralapsc.gov.in, or log in to the one you already have.
  2. Open the notification and click 'Apply Now' against the category number. Kerala PSC charges no application fee.
  3. When the exam programme comes out, submit your confirmation to write the test from your profile within the window given. Applications without a confirmation are rejected.
  4. Download the admission ticket from your profile. It opens in the last 15 days before the test.

Photo and signature

  • Photo: JPG, 200 pixels high and 150 pixels wide, up to 30 KB, face and shoulders clearly visible on a white or light background. A new One Time Registration profile needs a photo taken within the last six months, with your name and the date printed at the bottom.
  • Signature: JPG, 150 pixels wide and 100 pixels high, up to 30 KB. A blank, unclear or incomplete signature image gets the application rejected.
