What they ask
The written exam has 100 questions for 100 marks in 1 hour 45 minutes, on an OMR sheet in English and Hindi. The advertisement gives a tentative split: about 20 percent general subjects including Haryana, 10 percent computer basics and 70 percent from the warder syllabus. That 70 percent block is wider than the usual SSC-style mix: besides general awareness, reasoning, English and maths, it lists Hindi grammar, insurance basics, Haryana's economy, rural marketing and environmental studies. Wrong answers are not penalised, but a question with no bubble filled costs one mark. You need 50 percent for a general post and 40 percent for a reserved post.
How to prepare
- Start running practice early. The PMT and the timed run come before the written exam, and missing the time ends your candidature.
- Read the full warder syllabus in the advertisement. Beyond reasoning, English and maths, it names Hindi, insurance basics, Haryana's economy, rural marketing and environmental studies.
- Revise computer basics such as MS Office, internet and email terms for the 10 percent computer block.
- Fill the fifth bubble for any question you leave; an empty row costs one mark.
- Use the free topic-wise practice quizzes on the Improvam app for reasoning and maths.
Practise Haryana Jail Warder syllabus topics a few minutes a day with short quizzes in the Improvam app.
