About Haryana CET Group D
Group D hiring in Haryana runs on CET marks alone: HSSC ranks candidates by their CET score and recommends them for posts without a second exam. Advertisement 05/2026, published on 18 June 2026, took registrations from 19 June to 3 July 2026 on onetimeregn.haryana.gov.in. The post list is to be published separately. The matric qualification applies to all Group D posts except Sweeper, Chowkidar and Sweeper-cum-Chowkidar.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–42 years, counted on 3 July 2026 (closing date of registration).
Age relaxation
- SC: 5 years
- OBC: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Relaxation follows the Haryana government instruction of 25 March 2022, printed as Appendix-E of the advertisement.
- PwBD candidates get 10 years, plus 5 more if they also belong to SC, BC or EWS.
- With relaxation, the upper age cannot go past 52 years, except for ex-servicemen.

Matriculation from a recognised board, with Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects up to matric.
Other conditions
- Reservation benefits go only to bonafide residents of Haryana; reserved-category candidates from other states are treated as general.
- Candidates registered for CET 1/2022 or CET 1/2025 must use their old CET registration number.

What they ask
The paper has 100 questions for 100 marks in 1 hour 45 minutes, set at matric level on an OMR sheet in Hindi and English. A wrong answer costs nothing, but a question with no bubble filled, not even the fifth 'not attempted' bubble, costs a full mark. Three-quarters of the weight is general awareness, science, reasoning, maths, English and Hindi grammar, and one quarter is about Haryana. You need 50 percent to qualify (40 percent for reserved categories), and because the Group D merit uses CET marks alone, every mark above that line counts.
How to prepare
- Fill a bubble for every question. A wrong answer carries no penalty, while a row left completely empty loses one mark.
- Revise Hindi grammar at matric level: sandhi, samas, muhavare, lokoktiyan, synonyms and antonyms are all listed in the official syllabus.
- Cover Haryana's history, geography, economy, culture and current events as a full quarter of the paper.
- Do not stop at arithmetic. The maths list also includes trigonometry, basic algebra and geometry.
