About Goa LDC
Lower Division Clerks handle office and records work in Goa government departments, including both district Collectorates, Transport, Education and the Electricity Department. GSSC Advertisement No. 3 of 2026, dated 11 September 2026, listed 204 LDC/Recovery Clerk posts across 35 departments; a supplementary note of 21 September 2026 corrected the total to 203. The same advertisement has 2 Data Entry Operator and 13 Junior Assistant posts at the same pay level 2, with a common exam. The last date to apply is 2 October 2026.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: Up to 45 years, counted on Last date of application (2 October 2026).
Age relaxation
- OBC: 3 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- PwD candidates who are SC or ST get 15 years; PwD candidates who are OBC get 13 years.
- Government servants and others get up to 5 years under government orders. Ex-servicemen get relaxation under the orders in force.
- No one can be older than 56 after any relaxation.
Qualification

Other conditions
- The one-year experience can be as an apprentice (at least 335 days), or in a government or semi-government office, a factory, company or hospital, a recognised educational institute, a registered bank or cooperative society, the office of an advocate, chartered accountant, architect, cost accountant, company secretary or engineer, or a private establishment with at least 5 employees.
- For experience in a professional's office you must show a bank statement with the monthly salary credits; for a private establishment you need the labour inspector's registration certificate and Form I statement.
- PwD candidates are exempt from the experience requirement under a Department of Personnel order dated 8 September 2026.
- You need a valid 15-year Goa residence certificate and Goa Employment Exchange registration.

What they ask
GSSC's LDC sample paper opens with the Konkani questions, set in Devanagari, on proverbs, sayings and word meanings. The English section tests grammar at school level: spotting the wrong part of a sentence, rewriting with degrees of comparison, naming figures of speech and finding misspelt words. Reasoning includes analogies, and the arithmetic is simple: sums, order of operations and finding a median. Every question has five options, the last being "None of the above", and carries one mark.
How to prepare
- Check your one-year experience and six-month computer course certificates now. Both are judged as on 2 October 2026, and without them the application fails at document checking.
- Read common Konkani proverbs and word meanings. The Konkani section needs 4 out of 10 before the rest of CBT-I is marked.
- Put English first for CBT-II, where it carries 30 of 80 marks, and revise basic computer knowledge for the 20-mark computer section.
- Build English typing speed to 30 words per minute. The typing test only qualifies you, but failing it ends your candidature.
- Take daily topic-wise practice quizzes on the free Improvam app for English grammar, reasoning and arithmetic.

How to apply
- Complete One-Time Registration through gssc.goa.gov.in (Recruitment, Candidate, Apply here), which opens cbes.goa.gov.in.
- Apply for each post separately (LDC, Data Entry Operator, Junior Assistant) in your category; you sit CBT-I only once for all of them.
- Upload a recent passport-size photograph and your signature as JPG or JPEG files under 1 MB.
- Pay online: Rs 200 for unreserved, Rs 100 for OBC and EWS, Rs 50 for SC/ST candidates, and no fee for PwD candidates.
- Submit before 2 October 2026 and download the application.
