- The SC, ST, OBC and disability relaxation is for Uttarakhand candidates.
- Dependants of Uttarakhand freedom fighters get five years.
- Ex-servicemen may deduct their army service from their age; the result must not exceed the upper limit by more than three years.

What they ask
The paper has 100 marks in 2 hours, and a quarter of a question's marks is cut for each wrong answer. Uttarakhand general knowledge carries 40 marks on its own, as much as all other general studies put together. You need 45% (unreserved, OBC, EWS) or 35% (SC, ST) to qualify. Ties are broken by age, with the older candidate placed higher.
How to prepare
- Check the typing condition early: Junior Assistant posts need Hindi computer typing at 4,000 key depressions per hour.
- Spend as much time on Uttarakhand GK as on general studies, since each carries 40 marks.
- Read your post's section in the advertisement, because a few posts have a minimum age of 21, not 18.
