About TS High Court Junior Assistant
The High Court for the State of Telangana recruits Junior Assistants for the district courts under the Telangana Judicial Ministerial and Subordinate Service Rules, 2018. The latest round is Notification No. 2/2026, dated 19 January 2026, for 159 posts across the judicial districts on the Rs 24,280 to 72,850 scale. Stenographer Grade-III, Typist and Copyist posts had their own notifications the same day.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–46 years, counted on 1 July 2026.
Age relaxation
- OBC: 5 years

- ST: 5 years
- EWS: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Ex-servicemen: as per Rule 12(1)(c)(i) of the Telangana State and Subordinate Service Rules.
- Contract and outsourced staff of the High Court, legal services bodies and the judicial service get relaxation if they were within the age limit when first engaged and have two years of service.

What they ask
The test has 100 one-mark MCQs in 120 minutes: 60 on general knowledge and 40 on general English, set at graduation level. The GK questions are available in English and Telugu. Notification 2/2026 gives no topic-wise syllabus, so prepare standard general awareness along with English grammar, vocabulary and comprehension.
How to prepare
- Clear the cut-off first: you need 40% (OC/EWS), 35% (BC) or 30% (SC/ST/PH) in the CBT to be ranked.
- Split practice roughly 60:40 between general knowledge and English to match the paper.
- Keep proof of computer knowledge ready, since the notification makes it part of eligibility.
- One registration ID lets you apply to several districts, each with its own application number; choose districts whose language you know.
