Age relaxation

  • OBC: 5 years
  • SC: 5 years
  • ST: 5 years
  • Bona fide residents of Chhattisgarh have an upper limit of 40.
  • SC, ST and OBC relaxation is for those categories of Chhattisgarh; local women get up to 10 years.
  • Government servants get 5 more years on top of other relaxations; divyang relaxation follows the GAD circular of 27 September 2014.
  • All relaxations together cannot take the age past 45.

Other conditions

  • Reserved posts for SC, ST and OBC are only for bona fide residents of Chhattisgarh; others apply as unreserved.
  • Women's reservation is only for local residents of Chhattisgarh.

What they ask

Phase I is a 100-question screening test spread over six parts, from general studies to Hindi and English, answered in 2 hours with no negative marking. Phase I marks do not count in the final merit; they only decide who reaches the skill test. The final list comes from typing alone: 300 English words and 250 Hindi words in 10 minutes each for JJA, or 500 English words in 20 minutes for JJA (Computer), with a quarter mark lost per mistake.

How to prepare

  • Start Hindi and English typing practice on LibreOffice Writer under Ubuntu now, because the select list depends only on the skill test.
  • Practise Hindi typing in the layout you will use in the test, and time yourself on 250-word passages.
  • Treat Phase I as a filter: only about 15 candidates per post move on to the skill test, so cover all six parts evenly.
  • Take short topic-wise quizzes on the free Improvam app for GK, reasoning and maths.
