About AP District Court Junior Assistant
District court Junior Assistant posts in Andhra Pradesh are filled by the High Court, district by district, under the AP Judicial Ministerial and Subordinate Service Rules, 2019. Notification No. 2/2025-RC, dated 6 May 2025, invited online applications from 13 May to 2 June 2025, with pay of Rs 25,220 to 80,910. The same 2025 district judiciary drive also recruited Field Assistants, Examiners, Record Assistants, Process Servers and Office Subordinates.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–42 years, counted on 1 July 2025.
Age relaxation
- OBC: 5 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- EWS: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- 5 years for SC, ST, BC and EWS candidates.
- 10 years for persons with benchmark disabilities.
- Ex-servicemen as per Rule 12(1)(c)(i) of the AP State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996.
- Relaxed for contract, outsourced and daily wage staff already working in the judiciary, if they were within the age limit when first engaged.
Qualification

Other conditions
- 80% of posts in each judicial district are reserved for local candidates of that district; 20% are open to all.
- You must know the language of the district, for example Telugu and Tamil in Chittoor, Telugu and Kannada in Ananthapuram, or Telugu and Oriya in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram.

What they ask
Selection rests on one computer based test of 80 one-mark questions in 90 minutes: 40 on general knowledge and 40 on general English, at graduation standard. General knowledge spans Indian art and culture, history, geography, economy, polity, everyday science, awards, sports and current affairs of India and Andhra Pradesh. The English half tests comprehension, error spotting, cloze tests, para jumbles, synonyms, idioms and one-word substitution. You need 40% as OC or EWS, 35% as BC and 30% as SC, ST or PwBD to qualify.
How to prepare
- Work hard on the English topics listed; they carry half the marks and improve faster with practice than general knowledge.
- Keep a current affairs file for Andhra Pradesh as well as India, since the syllabus names both.
- Confirm you know your district's language before applying, as it is a condition for appointment.
- Collect your study certificates for Classes 7 to 10 (or a residence certificate) early to prove local status for the 80% local quota.

How to apply
- Fill Part A (One Time Profile Registration) on the High Court website to get an OTPR ID.
- Fill Part B, the application for each post and district, using the same OTPR ID.
- Pay Rs 800 (OC, EWS, BC) or Rs 400 (SC, ST, PwBD) online for each post and district.
