About TS DSC
DSC (District Selection Committee) recruitment fills teacher posts in Telangana government and local body schools through a Teacher Recruitment Test. The latest cycle, DSC-2024 (notification dated 29 February 2024), advertised 11,062 posts. For most posts the written test counts for 80 marks and your TET score for the other 20; for PET and School Assistant (Physical Education) all 100 marks come from the written test.

General category: 18–46 years, counted on 1 July 2023.

What they ask
The SGT paper has 160 questions for 80 marks in two and a half hours, so each question is worth half a mark. Its content sections come from Telangana state textbooks for Classes 1 to 8, and 30 questions test teaching methodology from the D.Ed syllabus. School Assistant papers put 88 questions on the subject itself, set on Classes 6 to 10 with difficulty up to Intermediate, plus 32 methodology questions from the B.Ed syllabus.
How to prepare
- Work from Telangana state textbooks. Content questions are set on the state syllabus: Classes 1 to 8 for SGT and Classes 6 to 10 for School Assistants.
- Treat your TET score as part of DSC: it supplies up to 20 of the 100 marks.
- Give methodology proper time. It is 30 of the 160 SGT questions and 32 of the 160 School Assistant questions.
- Revise perspectives in education and GK with current affairs together; they are 40 questions in both papers.
