About MHSRB Staff Nurse
MHSRB recruits nursing, paramedical and doctor posts for Telangana's health departments. Its Nursing Officer (Staff Nurse) notification No. 04/2024, dated 18 September 2024, first listed 2,050 posts, and an addendum added 272 posts in Insurance Medical Services, taking the total to 2,322. The pay scale is Rs 36,750 to 1,06,990.

- Telangana state government employees: up to 5 years based on regular service. Ex-servicemen and NCC instructors: 3 years plus length of service.

What they ask
The written test is a computer-based MCQ paper worth 80 of the 100 selection points, set only in English on the GNM syllabus. It runs from anatomy, physiology and microbiology through fundamentals of nursing, first aid, medical-surgical, mental health, child health and midwifery nursing to community health and nutrition. The other 20 points go to candidates who have worked on contract or outsourced terms in state government health services.
How to prepare
- Revise from your GNM textbooks subject by subject; the board's syllabus follows the GNM course headings.
- Give medical-surgical nursing matching time: the syllabus lists it as two separate units (I and II).
- Practise reading clinical questions in English quickly, because the paper has no Telugu version.
- If you have contract or outsourced service in a state government hospital, get the experience certificate in the board's format early; it can add up to 20 points.
