What they ask

The forester paper has 100 questions for 100 marks in 2 hours, with 1/3 mark cut for each wrong answer. Half the marks come from general knowledge and social studies centred on Rajasthan. Questions are set at senior secondary level. After the written exam, the walking test and physical measurements are pass-or-fail.

How to prepare

  • Build up to the walking test gradually; 25 km in 4 hours for men and 16 km for women needs weeks of practice.
  • Check your height and chest against the notice before applying, since the standards are fixed.
  • Put Rajasthan history, culture and polity first, as that block carries 50 of the 100 marks.
  • Revise class 10 to 12 science and maths basics for the remaining 35 marks.
