About MPESB Group 5 Staff Nurse

Group 5 is MPESB's combined test for staff nurse, pharmacist, compounder and other paramedical posts in Madhya Pradesh government departments and bodies, including hospitals, medical colleges and the AYUSH directorate. The 2026 rulebook lists posts department-wise, each with its own qualification and registration rules. One online test covers all of them, with most of the marks on your own trade.

Eligibility

Age limit

General category: 18–40 years, counted on 1 January 2026.

Age relaxation

• OBC: 5 years
• SC: 5 years
• ST: 5 years
• SC, ST, OBC, women, home guards and government, corporation or board employees from MP: upper limit 45.
• EWS candidates get no age relaxation.

Qualification

Higher Secondary (10+2) plus the diploma for the post, or a higher qualification, as set by the hiring department. For Pharmacist Grade 2, for example: Class 12 with biology, chemistry and physics, a pharmacy degree or diploma, and live registration with the MP Pharmacy Council.

Other conditions

• Qualifying marks: 50% for unreserved and 40% for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD candidates.
• Live registration with an MP employment office is mandatory.

MPESB Group 5 Staff Nurse syllabus

What they ask

The paper is 100 marks in 2 hours. Only 25 marks are general questions; the other 75 come from your trade, such as nursing or pharmacy. That split means your diploma subjects decide most of your score.

How to prepare

• Put about three quarters of your study time on your trade syllabus, matching its 75-mark weight.
• Keep your council registration live before you apply, since posts like pharmacist need it as part of the qualification.
• Read the post code tables in the rulebook, because qualifications and posts differ between departments and hospitals.
• Cover Part A with short daily revision of GK, Hindi and English.
