About MP PSTST
The Primary School Teacher Selection Test is the second step to a government primary teacher job in Madhya Pradesh. Only candidates who have already passed MPESB's Primary Teacher Eligibility Test (2020 or 2024) with the required marks can apply. The 2025 test recruited for two departments: the rulebook lists 10,150 vacancies in School Education and 2,939 in Tribal Affairs, 13,089 in all.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 21–40 years, counted on 1 January 2025.
Age relaxation
- OBC: 5 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- PwBD: 5 years
- MP women (unreserved), MP reserved categories, MP candidates with disabilities and MP government or corporation staff: upper limit 45.
- Guest teachers with three sessions and 200 days of teaching in MP government schools: 49 for unreserved men and 54 for the other groups listed.
- Relaxations are only for MP domicile candidates. EWS gets no age relaxation.

Other conditions
- Candidates from outside MP need at least 60% in the eligibility test; the 50% concession is only for MP domicile SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates and candidates with disabilities.
- Qualifying mark in the selection test: 50% for unreserved, 40% for SC, ST, OBC, PwD and EWS.

MP PSTST syllabus
Hindi (Class 12 level)
- Unseen prose and poetry passages
- Varnamala, spelling errors, parts of speech
- Tatsam, tadbhav, synonyms, antonyms and one-word substitution
- Sentence structure, idioms and proverbs, sandhi, samas, upsarg and pratyay
English (Class 12 level)
- Unseen passages (prose or poetry), vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms
- One-word substitution, prefix and suffix
- Parts of speech, articles, determiners and degrees of comparison
- Tense, subject-verb agreement, transformation and kinds of sentences
Mathematics (Class 10 level)
- Number system, ratio and proportion
- Algebra: polynomials, linear equations in two variables, quadratic equations
- Geometry: lines and angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, coordinate geometry
- Mensuration: areas, surface areas and volumes
- Statistics and probability
- Trigonometry, heights and distances
Science (Class 10 level)
- Biology: classification, human body systems, cells and tissues, health and disease, environment
- Plants: structure, photosynthesis, transport, growth and reproduction, crop production
- Chemistry: atomic structure, hydrocarbons, organic compounds, ethanol and ethanoic acid, soaps and detergents
- Physics: units, motion, force, work, energy, gravitation, pressure, heat
- Physics: electricity, magnetism, light and sound
Social science (Class 10 level)
- Geography of India: location, relief, rivers, climate, soils, resources, agriculture and minerals
- Solar system, globe, maps, landforms and atmosphere
- Indian and world history: ancient India to the national movement, and major world events
- Political science: the Constitution, democracy, elections and government
- Economics: basic concepts, sectors, money and banking, national income and trade
What they ask
The 2025 selection test was 100 one-mark questions in 2 hours with no negative marking. Science carries the most weight at 30 marks. An official clarification says Hindi and English questions are set at Class 12 level, while maths, science and social science stay at Class 10 level. Science questions go into Class 10 topics such as electricity, optics, carbon compounds and motion.
How to prepare
- Check your eligibility test score first. Without the required percentage in the 2020 or 2024 Primary TET, the selection test form is not valid.
- Spend the most time on science, which is 30 of the 100 marks, using NCERT and MP Board Class 10 books.
- Read Class 12 level Hindi and English grammar, because the official clarification of August 2025 sets those two subjects at Higher Secondary level.
- Attempt every question, because the rulebook has no negative marking.
