About MP Nursing Officer
MPESB runs this test for the Directorate of Public Health and Medical Education, Madhya Pradesh. Nursing Officers are posted in government health institutions and autonomous medical colleges, and Sister Tutors teach in government nursing colleges. The 2026 rulebook lists 2,099 Nursing Officer posts, all of them for women only, and 218 Sister Tutor posts. Selection was through a single online paper.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–40 years, counted on 1 January 2026.
Age relaxation
- OBC: 5 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- SC, ST, OBC, women, home guards and government, corporation or board employees from MP: upper limit 45.
- EWS candidates get no age relaxation.
Qualification
Nursing Officer: Class 12 with physics, chemistry and biology, and a 4-year B.Sc Nursing or 2-year Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with at least 45% (5% less for SC, ST and OBC), plus live registration with the MP Nurses Registration Council. Other conditions
- Every Nursing Officer post code in the 2026 rulebook is for women only. Sister Tutor posts are open to men and women.
- Live registration with an MP employment office is mandatory.

What they ask
The 2026 paper was 100 marks in 2 hours. The general section carried 25 marks and nursing subjects carried the other 75. Check chapter 4 of the rulebook for the full nursing syllabus before you plan your revision.
How to prepare
- Revise your B.Sc Nursing subjects first, since they carry most of the marks.
- Keep your MP Nurses Registration Council registration live, as it is part of the qualification.
- Check your final-year percentage against the 45% minimum (40% for SC, ST and OBC) before you apply.
