What they ask
The written exam has three OMR papers of 2 hours each, and every question is worth 3 marks with 1 mark cut for a wrong answer. Paper 1 has 80 Hindi and 40 English questions and is only qualifying at 30%. Paper 2 is 100 questions in a regional or tribal language, and Paper 3 has 120 questions, of which 50 are on Jharkhand. Papers 2 and 3 each need at least 30%.
How to prepare
- Build Jharkhand general knowledge first: it is 50 of the 120 questions in Paper 3, more than general studies.
- Hindi carries twice as many questions as English in Paper 1, so spend more of your language time on Hindi grammar.
- Stay fit through the whole process. The physical test comes before the written exam, and the medical check comes after it.
- Practise Paper 3 topics in daily topic-wise quizzes on the free Improvam app.
Practise Jharkhand Excise Constable syllabus topics a few minutes a day with short quizzes in the Improvam app.
