About Manipur Dental Surgeon (MPSC)
MPSC recruits Dental Surgeons for the state Health Department under the Manipur Health Service Grade-IV. Advt. No. 04/2026, dated 23 September 2026, lists 13 GCS Class-I (Group-A) posts, 9 UR and 4 ST, with one post for a candidate with a benchmark disability. The pay is Level 12 (Rs 53,100 to 1,67,800) with two years of probation. Online applications run from 28 September to 18 October 2026, 11:59 pm.

Age relaxation
- ST: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- The notice allows 5 years for SC and ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for differently abled persons, but no relaxation for a category with no reserved post. The 13 posts are only UR and ST, so in this cycle the category relaxation applies to ST candidates (5 years) and to differently abled candidates (10 years), and the two can be combined.
- Government servants get relaxation to the extent of service rendered.

Other conditions
- You must be an Indian citizen and able to speak Manipuri (Meetei/Meitei Lon) or a tribal dialect of Manipur.
- You must be a permanent resident of Manipur, or have a parent or direct ancestor who was one, with proof such as electoral roll enrolment and a birth certificate.
- Only the Permanent Resident Certificate is accepted; domicile and other residential certificates are not.
- All documents must be held as on 23 September 2026.

What they ask
The written test has 85 MCQs in 2 hours, and it carries 85 of the 100 marks that decide selection. Twenty-three questions come from basic and medical sciences, including 4 from general medicine and 5 from general surgery. The other 62 are from dental specialities, where conservative dentistry and endodontics and oral and maxillofacial surgery carry 11 questions each and every other subject 5. Each wrong answer costs 0.33 marks, so accuracy matters as much as coverage.
How to prepare
- Start with conservative dentistry and endodontics and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Together they give 22 of the 85 questions.
- Mark an answer only when you can rule out most options. Every wrong answer cuts 0.33 marks.
- Revise general medicine and general surgery at BDS level; they carry 9 questions between them in the basic sciences section.
- Keep your Permanent Resident Certificate and State Dental Council registration ready, because MPSC rejects applications with incomplete uploads and does not accept domicile certificates.

- Apply online on www.empsconline.gov.in between 28 September and 18 October 2026.
- Upload Class X and XII marksheets and certificates, BDS marksheets and degree, State Dental Council registration, Permanent Resident Certificate, and category, experience and no objection certificates where they apply.
- Pay the fee online: Rs 600 for General and OBC, Rs 400 for SC and ST; differently abled persons are exempt.
