About Manipur TET
Manipur TET is the eligibility test the Directorate of Education (S) holds for people who want to teach Classes I to VIII. Passing it does not give you a job; the appointing authority verifies eligibility and recruits separately. The Paper I notification is dated 16 June 2026, and Paper II, first notified in 2022, was resumed the same day with a fresh application window. A notice dated 23 September 2026 fixes both papers for Sunday, 11 October 2026: Paper I from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and Paper II from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm, at centres in eleven districts.

Other conditions
- The Paper I instructions state that only domiciles of Manipur can apply.
- SC, ST, OBC and differently abled candidates get up to 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks of the minimum qualification, as notified by NCTE.
- Only NCTE-recognised teacher education courses count; for special education courses, RCI recognition is needed.
- Pass mark stated in the annexures: 60% for general candidates and 50% for OBC, ST, SC and physically challenged candidates.
- No age limit is given in the TET notifications.

What they ask
Each Manipur TET paper has 150 one-mark MCQs in two and a half hours, with no negative marking. The content questions are based on Board of Secondary Education, Manipur textbooks for the level you choose, but the difficulty can go up to the secondary stage. In both language sections, half the questions are on language teaching methods and the rest on two unseen passages, grammar and vocabulary. Paper I has Mathematics and Environmental Studies with some Manipur-specific geography, while Paper II has a 60-question block of either Maths and Science or Social Studies.
How to prepare
- Answer every question. There is no negative marking in either paper, so a blank is a mark thrown away.
- Prepare language pedagogy as seriously as grammar. Fifteen of the 30 questions in each language section are on teaching methods, the four skills and remedial teaching.
- Read the BOSEM textbooks for the classes you want to teach. The Paper I EVS syllabus includes the physical features of India with reference to Manipur, disaster management and state symbols.
- Choose Language II early. The 2026 Paper I notice lists 23 Modern Indian Languages plus English-II, while the 2022 Paper II list is shorter, so check the list for your paper and pick the language you read and write most comfortably.
- For Child Development and Pedagogy, revise Piaget, Kohlberg and Vygotsky along with inclusive education, which alone carries 5 questions.

- Register on www.tet2026manedus.com (linked from manipureducation.gov.in) with your own mobile number.
- Fill in personal and academic details, then upload documents, photo and signature.
- Pay the fee online. Paper I: Rs 1,000 for General/OBC and Rs 500 for SC/ST/differently abled. Paper II: Rs 800 for General/OBC and Rs 600 for ST/SC/differently abled.
