About Manipur High Court LDA
The High Court of Manipur recruits Lower Division Assistants, the clerical staff of the district courts. The latest open recruitment was advertised on 19 April 2023 for 54 LDA posts (27 UR, 17 ST, 1 SC, 6 OBC (M), 3 OBC (MP)) at Level 4, Rs 21,700 to 69,100, alongside 64 Group-D posts. The written test was held on 23 June 2024 and the final result has since been posted on the High Court website.

What they ask
The LDA written test has 150 multiple-choice questions in 150 minutes, split equally between English Language, General Awareness and Quantitative Aptitude. You need at least 60 of 150 marks, but only the top five candidates per vacancy move on. The next stage is a 5-minute computer typing test where 35 words per minute net is the minimum, and typing marks are scaled against the fastest candidate in that test. A 30-mark interview completes the 200-mark total.
How to prepare
- Push your typing speed well past 35 words per minute. The fastest typist gets all 20 marks and everyone else is scored in proportion, so speed with accuracy adds real marks.
- Treat 60 marks as the floor, not the target. Shortlisting is five candidates per vacancy on written merit.
- Solve the LDA papers from 2015, 2018 and 2023 on the High Court's Previous Years' Questions page to see the level of each section.
- You get one minute per question, so practise mixed sets of English, general awareness and arithmetic against the clock.

- Apply online on www.hcmimphal.nic.in using your own email ID.
- Upload your photo, signature, left thumb impression, Class X certificate, graduation certificate and category certificate.
- Pay the fee online: Rs 600 for UR candidates and Rs 300 for OBC/ST/SC candidates (2023 cycle).
