What they ask
Every level gets one OMR paper of 100 questions in 1 hour 30 minutes: 25 each on general intelligence, general awareness, quantitative aptitude and English. The difficulty follows the level you applied at. At Matric level, reasoning is non-verbal and the maths stays with arithmetic, tables and mensuration. At 10+2 level the maths adds algebra, geometry and trigonometry, and English moves to error spotting, voice, narration, cloze tests and comprehension. The graduate paper uses graduate-level reasoning, awareness and English, but its maths is set at Class 10 level. A quarter mark is cut for every wrong answer.
How to prepare
- Read the post table in the advertisement before paying. Many Matric and 10+2 posts also need an NCVT/SCVT trade or a health training course, and the Rs 200 fee is charged for each post you apply for.
- If you want a Junior Assistant or Tehvildar post, practise typing on a computer keyboard now. You need at least 35 words a minute, and a 200-hour or six-month computer course certificate by the closing date.
- Prepare English properly, since it is a quarter of the paper at every level. For the 10+2 paper, drill error spotting, idioms, one-word substitution, voice and narration.
- Leave out questions you cannot narrow down. Each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks.
- For the quantitative aptitude and reasoning sections, take daily topic-wise practice quizzes on the free Improvam app at the level of your post.
