About Ladakh Police SI
LPSSRB also recruits sub-inspectors for the same general cadre of Ladakh Police. The post is at pay Level 6C (Rs 35,700 to 1,13,100). The latest round is Advertisement Notification No. 01 of 2026, dated 4 June 2026, for 40 posts, 34 of them reserved for Scheduled Tribes. The board published the PST and PET result on 20 August 2026, along with a notice fixing the subject-wise marks for the written test.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–30 years, counted on 1 January 2026.
Age relaxation
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- The normal limit is 18 to 28 years. A one-time 2-year relaxation under Home Department Order No. 106-Home of 2024 raised it to 30 for this recruitment.
- SC, ST and ALC candidates get 5 years on top, so they can be born as early as 1 January 1991.
- Ex-servicemen deduct their military service from their age and are treated as eligible if the result is no more than 3 years over the limit.

Other conditions
- You must hold a Ladakh domicile certificate issued under the Ladakh Civil Service Decentralization and Recruitment (Grant of Domicile Certificate) (Procedure) Rules, 2025.
- Physical standards: men need 162 cm height and an 81 cm chest expanding to 85 cm; women need 152 cm height.
- A graduation in computer science, cyber forensics, forensic science or disaster management lets you take a desired qualification test worth up to 5 extra marks.
- NCC C, B and A certificates add 5, 3 and 2 marks.

What they ask
The written test has 100 objective questions of one mark each in 80 minutes, with no negative marking. The board's notice of 20 August 2026 splits it evenly, 20 marks each for reasoning, general knowledge, quantitative aptitude, English comprehension and computer proficiency. The maths list goes well past arithmetic into algebra, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry and data charts. General awareness gives special weight to Ladakh's history, art, culture, geography and current affairs. The computer section is basic: hardware parts, Windows Explorer, shortcuts, email, e-banking and simple questions on AI tools.
How to prepare
- Treat computer proficiency as your safest 20 marks. The syllabus is short and factual: computer parts, memory, ports, Windows Explorer, shortcuts, email, e-banking and AI basics.
- Prepare the whole paper in English. The advertisement mentioned English and Hindi, but the 20 August 2026 notice says the written test will be in English only.
- Do not skip geometry and trigonometry. The quantitative aptitude list includes triangle centres, circle theorems, mensuration of solids, trigonometric identities and heights and distances.
- Claim every bonus you are entitled to. NCC certificates are worth up to 5 marks, and a degree in computer science, cyber forensics, forensic science or disaster management opens the desired qualification test for up to 5 more.
- Attempt every question on the day, since wrong answers cost nothing, and use daily topic-wise practice quizzes on the free Improvam app to build speed in reasoning and English.

How to apply
- Apply through the application link on the Ladakh Police website (police.ladakh.gov.in).
- Enter your name and date of birth as in your Matriculation certificate; date of birth and category cannot be edited after submission.
- Pick Leh or Kargil as your centre for both the PST/PET and the written exam.
- Pay the fee online by UPI, net banking or card: Rs 700 for UR and EWS, Rs 600 for SC, ST and ALC.
- Download admit cards only from the Ladakh Police website.
