About Leh Teacher Recruitment
LAHD-SSRB fills district cadre non-gazetted posts under the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, and this round is for the School Education Department. Advertisement Notice No. 01 of 2026, dated 14 July 2026, has 114 teacher posts: 57 for Upper Primary and 57 for Primary, both at pay Level 5 (Rs 29,200 to 92,300). A corrigendum of 7 August 2026 says 'District Leh' means the erstwhile Leh district as it stood before the district reorganisation notification of 27 April 2026. The exam centre is in Leh only.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–40 years, counted on 1 January 2026.
Age relaxation
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- SC, ST and ALC candidates can be up to 45; persons with benchmark disabilities up to 50, and 55 if also SC, ST or ALC.
- Government employees with at least 3 years of regular service: 40 for unreserved and 45 for SC, ST and ALC.
- Ex-servicemen deduct their military service from their age and remain eligible if the result is no more than 3 years over the limit.
- Reserved candidates who apply against unreserved vacancies get only the unreserved age limit.
Qualification

- You must be a resident of the erstwhile Leh district and hold a domicile certificate under the Ladakh Civil Services Decentralization and Recruitment (Grant of Domicile Certificate) (Procedure) Rules, 2025.
- A candidate eligible for two reserved categories (for example ST and ALC) must choose one when applying.

What they ask
You sit two OMR papers of 100 one-mark questions, each lasting 1 hour 30 minutes and set in English. Paper I is common to both posts: 25 questions each on general awareness, reasoning, arithmetic and English, with the arithmetic kept at Class 10 level and the rest at graduate level. Paper II is on teaching and differs by post. The Primary paper leans on child development, foundational literacy and numeracy, NEP 2020 and NCF-FS, while the Upper Primary paper covers adolescent psychology, subject pedagogy, assessment and educational technology including AI. A quarter mark is cut for each wrong answer, and Paper II is checked only if you score at least 20% in Paper I.
How to prepare
- Check your CTET paper before you pay the fee. Primary posts need CTET Paper I and Upper Primary posts need Paper II.
- Study the revised Section B syllabus issued on 3 August 2026, not the one printed in the July advertisement. The Primary version now names NEP 2020, NCF-FS 2022, NIPUN Bharat, PARAKH and the HPC (progress card).
- Give Paper II the most time. Both papers add up for the merit list, and on equal totals the tie goes first to the older candidate, then to the higher Paper II score.
- Skip questions you cannot narrow down. Each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks in both papers.
- For Paper I arithmetic and reasoning, take daily topic-wise practice quizzes on the free Improvam app and keep an eye on accuracy, since guesses cost marks.

How to apply
- Register as a new candidate on lahdssrb.in and log in.
- Apply separately for each teacher post you want; each application needs its own fee of Rs 200, paid online.
- Upload a scanned photo and signature in JPEG, 20 KB to 50 KB each.
- If you qualify for two reserved categories, pick one; the choice cannot be changed later.
- Download the admit card from the board's website when it is released; it is not sent by post.
