About DSSSB Warder
DSSSB recruits Warders for Delhi Prisons, and the post is open only to men. Advertisement No. 01/2025, dated 4 July 2025, listed 1,676 vacancies under post code 15/25 on Pay Level 3. After the written test, shortlisted candidates take a physical endurance test, where physical defects are also checked.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–27 years, counted on 7 August 2025.
Age relaxation
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-servicemen: period of military service plus 3 years, up to a maximum age of 55.
- Departmental candidates with 3 years' regular service: up to 40 years of age (45 for SC and ST, 43 for OBC) for a Group C post in the same or an allied cadre.
- Meritorious sportspersons: up to 5 years (10 for SC and ST, 8 for OBC).

10+2 (Senior Secondary) pass from a recognised board, plus the physical and medical standards in the advertisement.
Other conditions
- Height at least 170 cm, relaxed by 5 cm for Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Dogras and ST candidates.
- Chest at least 81 cm unexpanded with a minimum 5 cm expansion; the minimum is relaxed by 5 cm for the same groups, but the 5 cm expansion is still needed.
- Vision 6/6 in both eyes without glasses and no colour blindness. Bow legs, knock-knees, flat feet, varicose veins or squint make you ineligible.
- The post is not identified as suitable for PwBD candidates.
- OBC reservation and age relaxation need an OBC (Delhi) certificate, or an outside certificate for a caste that the Delhi government has notified as OBC. Other OBC candidates apply as unreserved.

What they ask
The Warder written test is the DSSSB general paper: 200 one-mark questions in two hours, 40 each on general awareness, reasoning, arithmetic, Hindi and English, with 0.25 cut per wrong answer. Candidates shortlisted from it move to the PET. The race comes first, 1,600 metres in six minutes, and only those who clear it attempt the long jump and high jump. The advertisement says there is no appeal against the PET result.
How to prepare
- Start running practice early. You must finish 1,600 m in six minutes before you are allowed to attempt the jumps.
- Measure your height, chest and eyesight against the advertisement before applying. Apart from the 5 cm allowance for the listed groups, no relaxation is given.
- Split written-test study evenly across the five sections, since each carries 40 marks.
- Use daily topic-wise practice quizzes on the free Improvam app to build speed in reasoning and arithmetic.

- Register once on dsssbonline.nic.in; one registration serves every DSSSB exam.
- Log in, pick the post code and fill in the online form before the closing date.
- Pay the fee through SBI e-pay if your category is not exempt.
- Print the submitted form and keep checking dsssb.delhi.gov.in for the exam date and notices.
