About DSSSB TGT

DSSSB recruits Trained Graduate Teachers for Directorate of Education schools, along with a few posts in New Delhi Municipal Council schools. The subject-wise round came in Advertisement No. 06/2025 of 3 October 2025, with separate male and female posts for most subjects; a January 2026 corrigendum cut its total from 5,346 to 5,336. Advertisement No. 03/2026 of 29 May 2026 then added 675 TGT Computer Science and 163 TGT Special Education Teacher posts. Selection is through one computer-based test of 200 questions, after which the department checks your documents through an online e-dossier.

Eligibility

Age limit

General category: Up to 30 years, counted on 15 July 2026.

Age relaxation

  • SC: 5 years
  • ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years
  • PwBD candidates get 13 years if they are also OBC and 15 years if also SC or ST.
  • Ex-servicemen: period of military service plus 3 years, up to a maximum age of 55.
  • Regular government servants: up to 5 years, as per Central Government orders.
  • Contractual employees of the same department: a one-time relaxation equal to the time served, up to 5 years, counting only years with at least 120 working days. Contract and guest teachers of the Directorate of Education who have not used it before also get a one-time relaxation.
  • Special Education Teacher (NDMC, post code 72/25 in Advertisement No. 06/2025): women get a further 10 years.

Qualification

Other conditions

  • Most subjects have separate male and female post codes. Apply to the one that matches you.
  • OBC reservation and age relaxation need an OBC (Delhi) certificate, or an outside certificate for a caste that the Delhi government has notified as OBC. Other OBC candidates apply as unreserved.
  • Application fee is Rs 100. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates are exempt.
  • The age limit is counted on the closing date of each advertisement: 7 November 2025 for Advertisement No. 06/2025 and 15 July 2026 for Advertisement No. 03/2026.

What they ask

The TGT paper has 200 one-mark questions in two hours. Section A is a general test of 100 questions, 20 each from general awareness, reasoning, arithmetic, Hindi and English. Section B has 100 questions on your own subject, including teaching methodology. Only Section B has a minimum qualifying mark, but your merit rank uses the total of both sections, and a quarter mark is cut for every wrong answer. The minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General and EWS, 35% for OBC (Delhi) and 30% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.

How to prepare

  • Give Section B most of your time. It carries half the marks and is the only section with a qualifying floor.
  • Keep your B.Ed and CTET pedagogy notes in the revision plan, since Section B includes teaching methodology questions.
  • Do not skip Hindi. Section A has a 20-mark Hindi language section, and language questions are set only in that language.
  • Leave a question blank when you cannot narrow the options. Each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks.

How to apply

  1. Register once on dsssbonline.nic.in; one registration serves every DSSSB exam.
  2. Log in, pick the post code and fill in the online form before the closing date.
  3. Pay the fee through SBI e-pay if your category is not exempt.
  4. Print the submitted form and keep checking dsssb.delhi.gov.in for the exam date and notices.
