About TPSC TCCE
TPSC fills a set of Group B and Group C posts from different departments through one exam, the Tripura Combined Competitive Examination. Advertisement 18/2025 covered Supervisor (ICDS), Inspector of Small Savings and Superintendent of Taxes, and an addendum of 27 January 2026 added 28 more Supervisor (ICDS) posts. Candidates who clear the prelims submit their order of preference for the posts along with their documents.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: Up to 40 years, counted on 18 July 2025.
Age relaxation
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- PwBD: 5 years
- SC, ST and PH candidates: 5 years
- Government servants: 5 years; SC, ST or PH government employees do not get a further 5 years on top
Qualification
Graduate from a recognised university for all posts. For Superintendent of Taxes, preference goes to commerce graduates with Advanced Accountancy and Auditing, or arts graduates with Commerce, Economics or Statistics.
Other conditions
- You need a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRTC), under the GA(P&T) Department notification of 7 July 2023.
- Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok is desirable for all three posts.
- For Supervisor (ICDS), 5 years of work in women and child welfare and computer knowledge are desirable, not essential. A master's degree in Commerce, Economics or Statistics is desirable for Superintendent of Taxes.

What they ask
The prelims is a 100-mark MCQ paper in 90 minutes. Its marks do not count in the final merit, but you need 35% (30% for reserved categories) and a place within five times the vacancies in your category to reach the Main. The Main is fully written: Paper I tests English through report drafting, précis, comprehension, paragraph and letter writing, and Paper II asks short answers on Tripura and the North East, current affairs, the Constitution, Madhyamik-level arithmetic and mental ability. Arithmetic and mental ability together carry 40 of the 100 marks in Paper II.
How to prepare
- Read Tripura and North East general knowledge closely: it carries 20 marks in the prelims and another 20 in Main Paper II.
- Practise drafting a report from given points and writing a précis against the clock, since these two tasks carry 35 of the 100 marks in Main Paper I.
- Revise Madhyamik-level arithmetic and mental ability together; they make up 30 prelims marks and 40 marks in Main Paper II.
- For the Constitution, cover Panchayati Raj and urban local bodies, which the prelims syllabus names separately.
- Use daily topic-wise practice quizzes on the free Improvam app for current affairs and arithmetic before the prelims.

TPSC TCCE FAQs
Up to 40 years as on 18 July 2025 under Advertisement 18/2025. SC, ST and PH candidates and government servants get 5 more years, but a government servant from SC, ST or PH categories cannot add both.
