About PSSSB Clerk
PSSSB recruits clerks for Punjab government departments as a Group C post at Pay Level-2. Advertisement No. 02 of 2026 first left the post count open, but a corrigendum of 21 August 2026 dropped that clause, listed 531 posts department by department and reopened applications from 25 August to 7 September 2026.

Qualification

You also need matriculation with Punjabi. Qualifications must be held by the last date of application.
Other conditions
- Reservation is only for residents of Punjab, who must show a domicile certificate not older than five years.
- A qualifying Punjabi test of matriculation standard with at least 50% marks is compulsory for Group C posts.

What they ask
You answer both parts of the written test on one OMR sheet. Part A has 50 matriculation-level Punjabi questions, and Part B is marked only if you get at least 25 of them right. Part B has 100 one-mark questions on general knowledge, Punjab history and culture, reasoning, Punjabi, English and computers, and a wrong answer there costs a quarter mark. Only Part B marks decide your rank.
How to prepare
- Clear Part A first. Revise Punjabi grammar, idioms and the lives of the Sikh Gurus until you are comfortably above 25 out of 50, because Part B is not marked otherwise.
- Build typing speed on a computer in both English and Punjabi (Raavi Unicode font) to at least 30 words per minute. The test is qualifying, but failing it keeps you off the merit list.
- Skip Part B questions you cannot narrow down. Each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks and a blank costs nothing.
- Keep your computer course certificate ready. The 120-hour course or 'O' level equivalent is part of the qualification and is checked at counselling.
