  • The advertisement invites any eligible Indian citizen. Reservation, including the 35% horizontal quota for women, goes only to permanent residents of Bihar.
  • Written exam minimum: 40% for unreserved, 36.5% for BC, 34% for EBC and 32% for SC, ST, women and PwD candidates.

General Aptitude

  • Number system, whole numbers, decimals and fractions
  • Percentage, ratio and proportion, average, interest, profit and loss
  • Analogy, similarity and difference, spatial visualisation, problem solving, analysis
  • Visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts
  • Arithmetic reasoning, number series, verbal and figure classification, non-verbal series, coding and decoding

What they ask

All three papers are objective, with 100 one-mark questions each in two hours. The language paper only has to be cleared, with at least 30% in English and 30% in Hindi separately. Your rank comes from General Studies and General Aptitude. The General Studies syllabus is close to the BPSC CCE prelims, with Bihar history, geography and economy named in it.

How to prepare

  • Do not skip the language paper. Scoring under 30% in either English or Hindi means your other papers are not evaluated.
  • Treat General Aptitude as a scoring paper: number system, percentage, interest and series questions reward regular timed practice.
  • Use BPSC CCE prelims material for General Studies, since the listed topics overlap closely.

  • With 1/3 negative marking, attempt only questions where you can cut down to one or two options.
