About DNH DD Upper Primary Teacher (UPST)
Upper Primary School Teachers teach Classes VI to VIII in the UT's English medium schools, in Group B at Level 6 of the pay matrix (Rs 35,400 to 1,12,400). Advertisement No. 04 of 22 November 2025 listed 162 posts: 70 for Language, 47 for Science/Maths and 45 for Social Science. All three subject groups wrote the computer-based exam on 28 March 2026, one shift each, and the revised answer key and merit lists followed in August 2026.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: Up to 30 years, counted on Closing date of the online application (1 January 2026 for Advertisement No. 04).
Age relaxation
- The upper age limit is relaxable under Central Government orders issued from time to time.
- People working on daily wages, ad-hoc, contract or work-charge basis in UT departments, or in autonomous bodies largely funded by the UT Administration, get relaxation under the UT Administration's guidelines.

Other conditions
- The advertisement sets no residence condition. SC, ST and OBC reservation for these Group B posts is applied on an all-India basis.
- Application fee is Rs 200. SC, ST, persons with disabilities and women pay no fee; ex-servicemen pay Rs 100.
- Disability reservation covers only the locomotor categories OL, OA, MW and OLA at 40% or more.

What they ask
The UPST paper follows the same rules as PST: 100 questions in English, 1 mark each, and 0.25 cut for a wrong answer. The only UPST syllabus we could find is an indicative Part I list the SSB issued for an earlier round (an archived copy dates from February 2025). It covers reasoning, quantitative aptitude, teaching aptitude, general awareness and general science, and it allows miscellaneous questions too. The questions that reached the objection stage in 2026 show how mixed the paper is: the Language paper had a vitamins question, a one-word substitution and a word problem on the cost of painting a cylindrical tank, the Social Science paper asked about a mineral-planning body set up in 1950, and the Science/Maths paper had a circle geometry question. Expect general sections alongside questions from your own subject.
How to prepare
- Do not skip aptitude because you applied for Language or Social Science. The 2026 Language paper included a mensuration word problem, so the quantitative aptitude list applies to every subject group.
- Work through the quantitative list chapter by chapter: percentages, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, time and work, time and speed, mixtures, pipes and cisterns, and data interpretation. Time yourself on 20-question sets.
- Prepare teaching aptitude from your B.Ed notes on teaching methods, evaluation, educational psychology and group management; these are named in the syllabus.
- Revise general science at the level of the NCERT books for Classes 6 to 8: acids and bases, electricity and circuits, light and shadows, motion and measurement, nutrition, soil and weather.
- Build general awareness from monthly current affairs, awards, government schemes and census facts, and use the free Improvam app's daily topic-wise quizzes to test yourself on each area.

How to apply
- Read Advertisement No. 04 and the detailed instructions on the SSB page of ddd.gov.in or on daman.nic.in/ojas.
- Pick one subject group (Language, Science/Maths or Social Science) that matches your degree.
- Fill the online form through the link given in the advertisement (daman.nic.in/ojas for the 2025 round) within the dates given, and pay the fee if you are not exempt.
- Check the form before final submission; no correction is allowed after the confirmation number is generated.
- Download the e-admit card from the portal when it is released.

- CTET or TET pass certificate for upper primary level
- SC or ST certificate, or a latest OBC non-creamy layer certificate, from the competent authority

Science/Maths needs a B.Sc., Language needs a B.A. in the language concerned, and Social Science needs a B.A. or B.Com. You also need one of the teacher training qualifications in the advertisement and a CTET or TET pass for upper primary level.
