What they ask
Part A is a 30-question Tamil Language Eligibility Test worth 50 marks in 30 minutes. You need 20 marks, and they do not count towards your rank. Part B is a single three-hour OMR paper of 150 one-mark questions, 30 each from a language, English, mathematics, science and social science, all up to Class 10 level. You need 60 marks in the General category or 45 for BC, BCM, MBC/DNC, SC, SC(A) and ST candidates.
How to prepare
- Every Part B subject stops at Class 10 level, so the Tamil Nadu state board textbooks up to Class 10 are your main material.
- Each subject has exactly 30 questions. Do not leave your weakest subject for last, because every section carries the same weight.
- Practise full 150-question papers in three hours on an OMR sheet to build speed.
- Keep your TNTET Paper I certificate and teacher-training documents ready; you cannot apply without a TNTET Paper I pass.
Practise TN TRB SGT syllabus topics a few minutes a day with short quizzes in the Improvam app.
