What they ask
Only those who score at least half of the 50 physical marks are called to the written test. That test is a 100-mark objective paper in Marathi lasting 90 minutes, on arithmetic, general knowledge with current affairs, reasoning and Marathi grammar. Scoring below 40% in the written test rules you out. The final merit list adds your physical and written marks, and every unit holds the written test for a post on the same day.
How to prepare
- Train for the 1600 m (men) or 800 m (women) run first; it carries 20 of the 50 physical marks and you need 50% overall to reach the written test.
- Prepare Marathi grammar properly: sandhi, samas, vibhakti and correct usage, since the whole paper is in Marathi.
- Choose your police unit carefully: the written test for a post is held on the same day in every unit across the state.
- Practise short daily topic-wise quizzes on the free Improvam app for arithmetic and current affairs.
