Start with the submitted GD application, then gather the documents that support it. Collecting a stack of certificates without comparing the details can leave the real problem unnoticed.
The GD 2026 notice lists school, domicile/PRC and applicable category, service or NCC documents for verification. It links the domicile requirement to the state entered in the application. Official document-verification provisions.
Compare the fields, not just the file names
Put your application and school certificate side by side. Check the name and date of birth character by character. Then compare the domicile or permanent-resident record with the state details declared in the form.
Where there is a difference, identify what evidence explains it and what the official instructions require. Do not change or edit a certificate yourself. A name-change record, for example, needs to come through the appropriate process rather than a corrected scan.
For a reservation or relaxation claim, inspect the prescribed format and competent issuing authority. A certificate used for a state admission process may not address every requirement of a central recruitment. Read the cycle's actual wording before assuming the document is sufficient.
Build a usable folder
Keep originals separate from the copies you will hand over. Arrange them in the sequence of the call letter and create a simple index. Save readable scans privately so you can locate a record if asked for clarification.
An index might contain the document name, the application claim it supports and any unresolved issue. “Category certificate: format checked, original available” is more useful than “documents done”.
Follow the call letter for photographs, copies and any undertaking. The checklist here cannot replace requirements issued for your individual stage. If something is unclear, use the official contact route early and keep a record of your query.
Read the revised medical instructions
SSC issued a 29 April 2026 corrigendum applying amended MHA medical guidelines to GD 2026 DME/RME. Read it with the original notice; a screenshot of the older medical section can miss the amendment. Official medical corrigendum.
Do not treat an online quiz, a home measurement or a private assurance as a recruitment-board fitness decision. If you have a specific medical concern, consult a qualified clinician and disclose relevant history honestly. This article does not diagnose fitness or recommend treatment to meet a recruitment threshold.
If the board issues an adverse finding, read the written instructions about any review process immediately. Keep the finding and record the stated deadline. Advice from another year's candidate may describe a different procedure.
