Puducherry government exams

Most Group C and non-gazetted Group B jobs in the Union Territory of Puducherry are filled through one online portal, recruitment.py.gov.in, which the Exam Cell of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DP&AR) runs for many departments. From 2025 the Puducherry Examining Authority in the Chief Secretariat holds common CHSL and CGL exams for clerks and many technical posts, while the Police, Revenue and Electricity departments still issue their own notifications for constables, sub-inspectors, VAOs and junior engineers. Almost every notification is open only to natives or residents with five years' continuous residence in the UT, and most written papers come in English along with Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam. Primary School Teacher posts in the 2025 round were filled on weightage marks (70% for Class 12 and the teacher-training diploma, 20% for TET Paper I, 10% for employment exchange seniority) with no written test.
