Chandigarh government exams

Recruitment for Chandigarh's own posts is advertised by the department that has the vacancies, not by a single commission. Chandigarh Police runs its constable and ASI recruitments through a board set up by the Director General of Police, teacher posts come from the Department of School Education (regular) and Samagra Shiksha, Chandigarh (contract), and the District and Sessions Judge advertises ad hoc clerk posts for the district courts. The JBT advertisement and the TGT advertisement for most subjects ask for a CTET pass. Under a Department of Personnel order dated 4 September 2024, OBC reservation in Chandigarh Administration posts goes only to people who belong to Chandigarh and whose caste is on the UT's OBC or BC list. The police notices of 2023 and 2024 and the district court notice each carry their own OBC rule, based on the Chandigarh list.
