What they ask
Open market candidates take one online test in English: 200 questions in 120 minutes across reasoning, quantitative aptitude, English, general awareness and computer knowledge. Reasoning and quantitative aptitude are worth 50 marks each. Computer knowledge also has 40 questions, but each is worth half a mark, so the section totals 20. A quarter of a question's marks is cut for a wrong answer, and you must pass every section. There is no interview; the final list follows the test ranking.
How to prepare
- Give most of your practice time to reasoning and quantitative aptitude, which together carry 100 of the 200 marks.
- Move fast through computer knowledge, where each question is worth half a mark, and save time for the heavier sections.
- Watch the sectional cut-offs: a high total will not help if you fail one section.
