The upload finishing successfully does not tell you whether the signature is readable. Open the application preview and look at the actual image.
The CHSL 2026 notice uses live photo capture. It specifies a JPEG/JPG signature of 10–20 KB, approximately 6 cm wide and 2 cm high. It also contains Aadhaar-authentication exceptions; read those rather than applying a blanket rejection claim. Official notice, paragraphs 9.3–9.6.
Prepare the capture area
Use a place where you can see your face clearly on screen. Put the camera at a comfortable, stable height and inspect the background before starting. Follow the application's prompts about position and appearance.
Do not point the camera at a printed photograph. Follow the live-capture process presented by SSC. If the image looks blurred, retake it before moving on. A hurried attempt from a moving phone is easy to avoid when you start before the final evening.
If the camera does not open, check the browser or app's camera permission. Close other software that may be using it and retry through the official application route. Keep track of whether the form is saved before restarting. Repeatedly creating new registrations is not a sensible fix for a camera problem.
Keep the signature legible after compression
Start with a clear scan or photograph of your signature, crop the empty area and save it in the required format. Check the final file, not only the original. Heavy compression can make fine strokes disappear.
Inspect the signature at normal preview size. Can you still recognise the strokes? Enlarging a tiny mark into a blurry block will not rescue the source image. If the source is poor, capture it again rather than repeatedly resizing the damaged copy.
Never use someone else's signature or a decorative font as a replacement. If a service centre helps with the form, inspect the uploaded file yourself before submission.
Review the whole form once
After the images, compare your name, date of birth and qualification details against your records. Check the examination year and typing-language choice. Keep the documents beside you; memory is a weak proofreading method.
Then save the submitted application and confirmation. If a fee applies, check the portal's payment status as well as your bank message. A payment debit and a completed application are different records.
