About IBPS RRB Clerk
Office Assistant (Multipurpose) is the Group B clerical post in regional rural banks, filled through IBPS CRP RRBs-XV. There is no interview. Candidates are allotted to an RRB in the state or UT they applied for, based on mains marks and the vacancies that RRB reports.
Eligibility
Age limit
General category: 18–28 years, counted on 1 September 2026.
Age relaxation
- OBC: 3 years
- SC: 5 years
- ST: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- You must be born between 2 September 1998 and 1 September 2008, both dates included.
- Ex-servicemen get their period of service plus 3 years (8 years for disabled ex-servicemen from SC/ST), up to an age of 50.
- Widows, divorced women and judicially separated women who have not remarried can apply up to 35 years (General/EWS), 38 (OBC) or 40 (SC/ST).

Other conditions
- If you studied the state's language in class 8 or above, you count as proficient. Otherwise you get six months from joining to learn it.

What they ask
The prelims has 80 questions in 45 minutes, split between reasoning (25 minutes) and numerical ability (20 minutes), and you must clear both. The mains has 200 questions in 120 minutes across five tests. You pick either English or Hindi for the language test. Mains marks alone decide allotment, since there is no interview for this post.
How to prepare
- Numerical ability gets only 20 minutes for 40 prelims questions, so drill simplification and approximation for speed.
- Reasoning and numerical ability carry 50 marks each in the mains, the two biggest tests, so keep practising them after the prelims.
- Choose English or Hindi for the language test based on your practice scores, not habit.
- Remember that mains marks alone decide your allotment, so every mark there counts.
